Cannabis-Europakonferenz03.05.2001Stichting Drugsbeleid (Stiftung Drogenpolitik) President: Raimond Dufour Groot Heiligland 67, 2011 EP Haarlem tel.+ fax: 023-5310133 email: R.Dufour@planet.nl Ladies and gentlemen, Last February I send you the subjoined e-mail, informing you about the conferences on cannabis which the Dutch government intended to organise coming autumn. Since, it has been decided that the conference for cities in Europe will take place in December, and will be organised together with the governments of Belgium, Germany and Switzerland.
Now, our Foundation has asked members of the Dutch parliament as well as of the European parliament to also organise meetings on the subject of that conference: the gap between the strict prohibition of cannabis dictated by the international treaties, and the practice of a widespread consumption.
In this respect, we are being asked to furnish names of national and European parliamentarians who would be interested to participate in these meetings. Also, names of persons with a certain authority who could be invited.
Many thanks, Raimond Dufour
From: R.Dufour Ladies and gentlemen, Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Raimond Dufour. I'm president of the Dutch Drugpolicy Foundation ("Stichting Drugsbeleid-SDB"). I got your adresses from Joep Oomen (ENCOD in Antwerpen-Belgium). The SDB promotes a transition from the present drugprohibition to a normalized regime of regulation. As a result of our efforts the Dutch Government will organize an European conference on cannabis in october of this year. The conference offers a focuspoint to create a favourable political climate for concrete measures to be taken in our countries towards the regulation of cannabis. The annex (in english and german) to this letter provides more information. My request to you: could you find ways to promote that the delegates of your country to the conference would express opinions in favour of such steps ? I thank you beforehand for your efforts (and for informing me about them) !
with greetings, Raimond Dufour |
